Minister of Police Bheki Cele and 100 police cadets will be participating in the 100 Man March on Tuesday, 10 July 2018 at Church Square Pretoria to be part of the 100 Years of Nelson Mandela and Albertina Sisulu: Men’s March Against Violence on Women and Children.

Minister Cele declared to prioritize and intensify the fight on crimes against women, children and the vulnerable groups, when tabling the SAPS budget vote in parliament (15 May 2018). Police Minister will be addressing the event as part of the main program pledging support to stop violence against women and children.

The march draws 100 men from different categories across our society to create a visible front of men marching together to show their commitment to making South Africa safer for women and children. The scourge of violence against women and children is a huge threat to our development as a nation. On average, one in five South African women older than 18 has experienced physical violence.

The South African Police Service calls on all organisations to demonstrate their resolve to ending violence against women and children by joining this important cause.
