Rapist gets double life imprisonment #sentence
The Northern Cape Police Management applaudeThe d the investigating officer, Sergeant Mothusiemang Salokala for brilliant investigative work and for securing a double life sentence against Cameron Vogt. Sergeant Salokala was assigned to investigate a rape and attempted murder case, after an 11-year-old was raped on 13 April 2017. It emerged in court that at about 19:00 Cameron Vogt lured the unsuspecting 11-year-old girl to his shanty, where he raped her. After raping the victim, he stabbed her in the neck in an attempt to murder her. The victim was found the following morning on 14 April 2017, in torn clothes, half naked and bruised.
Early this month Cameron Vogt aged 25, was found guilty on two counts, rape and attempted murder, by the Northern Cape High Court.
The Northern Cape High Court had permanently removed Cameron Vogt from the society by sentencing him double life jail terms on Friday, 20 September 2019. The Police Management welcomed the double life jail term handed to the accused.
