EASTERN CAPE – Following recent incidents of domestic violence at Cambridge location, SAPS CAMBRIDGE together with partners; Department of Health, Masimanyane Women Support Centre and Khethimpilo deemed it fit to tackle this issue head on.
More recent is a case of 32-year-old woman who was alleged to have been beaten and bitten in the face by her jealous boyfriend, she ended up going in hiding. The more recent is that of 33-year-old woman who is alleged to have been strangled to death and her body hidden under the bed over the past weekend, both these cases are currently before court.
The key and common message from the stakeholders was that incidents of domestic violence must never be swept under the carpet because the help is out there for all the victims of domestic abuse, abusers need to be brought forward and be punished by law.
