SAPS Pink Walk with Dignified Blue.

Northern Cape: Provincial SAPS components, local police police stations, SAPS Employee Health and Wellness Unit, SAPS Women’s Network and SAPS Men For Change partnered with CANSA in a Pink Walk.

The walk drew hundreds of SAPS officials and community members on Wednesday, 31 October 2018. The Walk commenced at 08:30 am from Kimberley Police Station in Phakamile Mabija Road and proceeded to Trim Park Exercise Centre. Representatives from CANSA in Kimberley addressed the participants on the symptoms and treatment of cancer.

CANSA also emphasized the rising figures in people being diagnosed with cancer. And also informed them about breast cancer in men and what they can do when diagnosed with any cancer.

Zumba instructor, Collete Hendericks facilitated Zumba session which had everyone sweating in aid of CANSA.

The Cuppa for CANSA(cupcake and juice) raised an amount of R7120-00 (seven thousand one hundred and twenty rand), which will be handed over to CANSA. The police also delivered cupcakes donated by SAPS employees to the two Bophelo orphanages as part of their social responsibility project. Prizes were handed to participants for the best dressed, most cheerful and best Zumba Dancer.

This event is in support of the SAPS National Wellness Indaba that was launched in Pretoria from 24 to 25 October 2018
