THE REGIONAL WEATHER FORECAST FOR SUNDAY: 2019-06-30

WARNINGS:

1. Extremely high fires danger conditions are expected in places over the central and eastern part of the Northern Cape, Little and Central Karoo of the Western Cape, northern and western interior of the
Eastern Cape,western Free State and extreme western part of the
North-West Province.

WATCHES:

1.Heavy rain leading to localised urban flooding is expected in places over the Cape Metropole, western Overberg and south-western Cape Winelands in the evening into Monday morning.

SPECIAL WEATHER ADVISORIES:

1. Strong north-westerly winds are expected in the western interior of the Northern Cape, Central Karoo and Breede Valley in the Western Cape as well as the western and northern interior of the Eastern Cape.

Fine and cool.

Fine and cool, but warm over the Lowveld.

3. LIMPOPO:

Fine and warm.

4. NORTH-WEST PROVINCE:

Windy in the west otherwise fine and warm.

Windy in the west and the south otherwise fine and cool.

6. NORTHERN CAPE:

Morning fog along the coast, otherwise fine,windy and cool to warm but partly cloudy and cold in the west with isolated to scattered
Showers and thundershowers. It will be very cold in the south western high ground with possible light snowfalls in the evening.
The wind along the coast will be strong northwesterly.

7. WESTERN CAPE:

Partly cloudy,windy and cool to warm in the east, otherwise cloudy and cold with scattered showers. Light snowfall possible in the evening over the high peaks of the western mountains.
The wind along the coast will be strong northwesterly but moderate easterly in the south becoming southwesterly in the afternoon.

The expected UVB sunburn index:Low

8. WESTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE:

Fine,windy and warm but cool along the coast and adjacent interior.
The wind along the coast will be Light and variable becoming moderate to fresh south westerly west of Cape St Francis in the afternoon spreading eastwards
and reaching Port Alfred at night.

9. EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE:

Fine and warm but cool north of the escarpment. Strong winds are expected over the western interior.
The wind along the coast will be Light and variable becoming light to moderate north easterly towards midday.

10. KWAZULU-NATAL:

Fine and warm, but cool in places in the west, becoming partly cloudy in the evening from the south.
The wind along the coast will be Gentle to moderate northerly to
north-easterly, freshening in the north at times.
