Shortly after 15h21 Thursday, 26 July 2018 – Netcare 911 responded to an injury after a man fell from a cliff in Winston Park in KwaZulu-Natal yesterday afternoon.
On arrival Netcare 911 and other emergency medical services were led to the back of a property. Paramedics, SAPS and other emergency medical service providers started an extensive and lengthy rescue operation to get the man back to the top. Reports from the scene indicate that the man in his 40s fell 60 meters to the ground.
The man was found lying in a little stream, he was assessed by paramedics and it was found that he had sustained serious injuries, he was stabilised before being placed on the rescue stretcher and raised up the slope using a rope system. He was then transported to hospital for further medical care.
The circumstances surrounding the incident were not known to our paramedics.
