Suspect in custody murder of police officer.

DURBAN – Yesterday, Mpumalanga police arrested a 26-year-old suspect for murder. It is alleged that in the early hours of yesterday morning, Constable Thandiwe Mavaneni (33) was shot and injured after a domestic dispute whilst at her premises on Mageba Road in Mpumalanga. She sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to hospital where she died on arrival.

Police management in KwaZulu-Natal has extended their commiserations to the family and friends of Constable Mavaneni. Her death came as a shock to police officers at Inchanga and Mpumalanga police stations who were confronted with the gruesome incident.
