The synoptic chart of 12 July 2018 shows the cold front reaching the Western Cape. The western Free State North West and extreme eastern parts of the Northern Cape can expect cold, windy & wet conditions expected from late afternoon on 13/07/2018 with thundershowers & possible small hail. Small stock farmers (Angora goats & sheered sheep) & pet owners should make necessary precautions & think of the homeless.
For the Eastern Cape good rainfall amounts are possible on 13 July 2018 as a cold front and upper air system moves through. 10-20 mm widely expected with 20-30 mm in the central and eastern parts of the Eastern Cape, with snow likely on the mountains especially the north-eastern high ground with very cold temps.
