Three suspects nabbed for alleged murder and attempted murder
KwaZulu-Natal: Three suspects aged between 34 and 45 are expected to make their first appearance in the KwaDukuza Magistrate’s Court on 14 November 2018 on charges of murder and attempted murder which occurred on 11 November 2018 at Chakide Compound in Newark.
It is alleged that Samkelo Mathembu (33) together with his brother (28) were participating in various sporting codes at the compound with the suspects when a dispute ensued during which the suspects attacked the brothers.
They fatally stabbed Samkelo and his brother sustained a stab wound on the chest. He was rushed to hospital for medical attention. A case of murder and attempted murder was opened at Newark police station for investigation. Following the preliminary investigation, police swiftly arrested all three suspects on 12 November 2018.
