Western Cape: At 18H32 Sunday night Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on the M3 in Newlands, Cape Town.

Reports from the scene indicate that the driver of a light delivery vehicle lost control crashing into a tree.

The patients were assessed on scene by medics who found two adult males who had sustained minor to moderate injuries.

Due to the patients being trapped in the vehicle, the Cape Town Fire and Rescue Services had to use the "Jaws of Life" to free the men.

Once stabilised all the patients were transported by ambulance to hospital for further treatment.

All necessary authorities were on scene.
